Privacy policy
This policy explains what information Campus Clash collects, why, who it is shared with and how long it is kept. Campus Clash is made by Ranga Digital, which is responsible for this information. Questions or requests: use the support form.
What we collect and why
- Your Steam account. Your Steam ID and Steam display name, to sign you in, check that you own the game and show your name to opponents. We never see your Steam password or payment details.
- Your player ID. A random ID created by Unity's sign-in service that identifies your game profile.
- Your game profile. Your collection, decks, currencies, quests, season progress, ranked rating and win/loss record, stored on our game server so you can play on any PC.
- Match records. The moves in your online matches, used to run the match, settle results and review cheating or player reports.
- Purchases. What you bought, when, the price and Steam's order number. Payment itself is handled entirely by Steam. We use these records to deliver what you bought and to handle refunds and fraud.
- Usage data and automatic error reports (only if you agree). When you first start the game it asks whether you want to share these. If you say yes, the game sends information about how it is played (for example matches played, results, which screens are used and what is bought) and automatic error reports, along with your player ID, system details (operating system, hardware, language) and recent log lines. We use this to balance cards and fix bugs. You can turn it off at any time in Settings > Support & Privacy > Share usage data.
- Crash reports (always). If the game crashes or hits a serious error, a report is sent whatever you chose above. It contains the error, the type of computer and the last few lines of the game's log, and nothing that identifies you. It is used only to fix the bug.
- Reports you send. If you report a bug or another player, we receive your message, your player ID, the game version, system details and recent log lines, and the match record if you include it.
- Support messages. If you contact us through the support form, we receive your name, email address and message.
What other players and friends see
- Opponents see your Steam display name, your Leader, your cosmetics and your rank.
- If Show my activity to friends is on, your Steam friends (and, if Discord is running, your Discord profile) show what you are doing in the game, such as "Ranked match, turn 4".
- If Let opponents add me on Steam is on, opponents can open your Steam profile after a match.
You can turn each of these off in Settings > Support & Privacy.
Who we share it with
Only with the services that run the game for us, and only for that purpose:
- Unity Technologies (Unity Gaming Services): sign-in, our game server and its storage, usage data and crash reports.
- Valve (Steam): sign-in, ownership checks and payments.
- Formspree: delivers messages sent through the support form.
These providers may process information outside your country, under their own safeguards for international transfers. We do not sell or rent information to anyone, and we do not use advertising or tracking for advertising.
Why we are allowed to use it
- To provide the game and what you buy (your account, profile, matches and purchases).
- With your consent (usage data and automatic error reports). You can withdraw consent at any time.
- For our legitimate interests in keeping the game working, fair and safe (crash reports, cheat and fraud prevention, and handling reports about players).
How long we keep it
- Your game profile is kept for as long as you have an account.
- When you delete your account, your profile (collection, decks, currencies, season progress and record) is deleted, and we ask Unity to delete your usage data.
- Some records stay after deletion where we need them: purchase and match records, support and bug reports, and moderation records. If an account was suspended, a record of the suspension is kept with the Steam account so that deleting and starting again does not lift it.
- Crash reports, bug reports and support messages are kept only as long as needed to deal with them.
Your choices and rights
- Download my data (Settings > Support & Privacy) saves a copy of your game profile to your PC.
- Delete my account (same place) deletes your account as described above. Deleting your account does not refund purchases; refunds are handled by Steam.
- Share usage data can be switched off at any time.
- Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to access, correct or delete your information, to object to or restrict how it is used, and to complain to your data protection authority (for example the ICO in the UK). Contact us through the support form and include your player ID (Settings > Support & Privacy > Copy player ID).
Children
Campus Clash is not made for children under 13, and you must meet Steam's minimum age to have an account. If you believe a child under 13 has an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Your profile is stored on Unity's servers, and the game talks to them over encrypted connections. Purchases and currencies are handled only by our server, never by the game on your PC.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update it here with a new date. If the change is significant, we will tell players in the game.
